Hi.

I'm Sam Bayer, aka Dr. Batna, and I'm on a mission.

I want to make the world a better place by teaching ordinary people (no lawyers or bankers please) how to make better deals.

Whether you're a parent or child, husband or wife, employer or employee, customer or supplier, male or female, rich or poor, Black or White, I know it's possible to resolve disagreements with solutions that make everyone happy. Truly high fiving negotiating experiences where no one feels like they lost, or had to compromise, in order to get what they need.

The concepts are simple to learn but hard to put into practice. I know because I've been studying and practicing negotiating for most of my life.

My job is to provide you with the knowledge, stories and motivation to become a great Negotiating A.G.E.N.T.

A Negotiating A.G.E.N.T. is someone who is:

Aware of opportunities to negotiate,

Grounds themselves in their interests and,

Empathizes with the other party's interest,

Negotiates creatively and constructively and,

Ties it altogether with a measurable and enforceable agreement.

Your job?

Your job is to become a student. Learn what you can. Practice what you learn. Learn from your failures. Then rinse and repeat.

Oh, and why Dr. Batna?

My staff at Corevist, the company I founded and sold after 14 years, affectionately gave me that nickname. It was in recognition of my having earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry and my obsession with making sure that they had one...a Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement...whenever I coached them through their negotiations.
